Arsenal news: Granit Xhaka's exit talk, Ryan Fraser latest and Dennis Praet on release clause

Unai Emery is looking ahead to a summer to improve upon his efforts since taking over from Arsene Wenger last summer as Arsenal wait to welcome Edu Gaspar as their new Technical Director.

Ahead of his arrival at the Emirates Stadium, the Gunners are plotting their moves in the transfer market with some signings said to be closer than others.

The Gunners could do with reinforcements across the board, especially at centre-back and down the wings, and may also add depth at full-back following the departure of Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Here is the latest news on all things Arsenal from the last 24 hours.

Ryan Fraser to Arsenal

The 25-year-old Bournemouth winger may not be a popular target among all fans of the Gunners but he could be one solution to their lack of threat in wider areas.

However, Arsenal have made no progress since end of the season to secure Fraser's signature and talks are not expected to take place until after Scotland's Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium on June 8th and 11th, respectively.

Meanwhile, Edu is set to start his role officially as Technical Director next month once his work with Brazil is done.

Dennis Praet on release clause claims

A midfielder who has long been linked with a move to Arsenal, Praet has spoken out about his future this summer.

The 25-year-old has dismissed suggestions that he has a release clause built into his Sampdoria contract but is adament he wants a transfer to a "big club".

With Aaron Ramsey on his way to Juventus, the Belgian could be an intriguing option to replacement the Welshman in midfield.

Fenerbahce say no to Mesut Ozil

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur director of football Damien Comolli is now in charge at Turkish giants Fenerbahce, and he is not prepared to offer Ozil a route out of Arsenal.

The 30-year-old is often linked with a romantic move to Istanbul, and a country he that feels a deep connection through his family ties, as shown by his controversial meetings with Turkish premier Recep Erdogan.

If he is to move to the Super Lig, it will have to be with another club, with Fener not in a position to make a bid for one of the best paid players in Europe.

Xhaka's response to Inter question

Ex-Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is now in charge of the Milanese club and when asked about the link in an international press conference ahead of his country's Nations League match the Arsenal playmaker neither confirmed nor denied the claims.

Fans of the Gunners have often been divided over the former Basel and Borussia Monchengladbach passer, although he did enjoy a strong season under Emery.

Nevertheless, the reaction to talk of a potential exit has supporters in a pickle.
