Arsenal start a new era on Boxing Day against Bournemouth, where Mikel Arteta takes the helm for the first time since his appointment last week.
Following a draw with Everton at Goodison Park last time out, the Gunners will be keen on returning to winning ways when they travel to the South Coast to play Bournemouth.
Three points would make it a very merry Christmas for Arsenal supporters, as well as Arteta himself, but there is already a lot of attention on next month's transfer window.
So, what is the latest news from Arsenal on Boxing Day morning? Find out below.
Gabriel Martinelli blow
Mikel Arteta faces a big decision on young ace Gabriel MartinSee elli, as he has been called-up for Brazil's U23 squad ahead of the qualifying tournament for next summer's Olympic games in Tokyo.
Taking place in Colombia between January 18 and February 9, Arsenal will be without Martinelli for a number of fixtures if they approve his involvement and will also have to face the prospect of him being jaded upon his return, as he could play seven matches over the course of three weeks.
As the tournament falls outside the FIFA international calendar, Arsenal do not have to release Martinelli but Brazil will approach the club to request his involvement.
Arteta's January plans
The aforementioned January transfer window presents Mikel Arteta with the opportunity to bolster his squad but Football.London understands a major rebuild is unlikely.
However, significant business could occur in the market as Arsenal are understood to be eyeing a move for a new midfielder and a centre-back.
There could also be departures for Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi, who Arsenal want to sell, while Emile Smith-Rowe is expected to leave on loan.
Centre-back priority
On the subject on transfers, a whopping 81.9% of Arsenal supporters want the club to prioritise the signing of a new defender during the January transfer window.
The results of a poll held by Football.London also showed that fans would like to see a defensive midfielder, while a need for a new box-to-box player and an attacking midfielder was also highlighted.
When it came to particular names, fans identified RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano, Leicester City's Wilfried Ndidi and Hakim Ziyech as ideal recruits.
