Arsenal news: fans deliver verdict, Lacazette's reponse to Barca rumours and Denis Suarez snub

The Premier League season may be over, but Arsenal still have one game left to play.

The Gunners take on Chelsea in the Europa League final after last Thursday's 4-2 semi-final second leg victory over Valencia. The final will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan on May 29th.

Winning the match will not only mean silverware for Unai Emery's men, but would also give them a place in next season's Champions League.

While the league season may have ended in disappointingly (despite a 3-1 final day victory over Burnley), Arsenal will be looking to end the season on a high and give the club a boost going into the summer transfer window.

Arsenal fans deliver their verdict on the season

Unai Emery's first season in charge was a mixed one to say the least. A fifth place finish in the Premier League coupled with a European final isn't bad going at first viewing.

But what to the people who are there week in week out think?

The general feeling is that there was an improvement under the new man, but there is still a lot of work to be done to get Arsenal back to where they used to be, as highlighted by this comment.

"Many highs & lows, wake up calls and questions asked but also a glimpse of the potential that we have. Slight improvement but still work to be done."

Lacazette's response to Barcelona rumours

If reports are to be believed then Arsenal may have a fight on their hands in order to keep hold of player of the season Alexandre Lacazette. Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on the striker as they look to add depth to their squad in attacking areas.

The player has given a three word response to the speculation that won't go a long way to settle the nerves of the Gunners' fans keeping their fingers crossed that he will still be at the Emirates next season.

The response? "I am flattered."

Arsenal have previous with Denis Suarez

Arsenal and Denis Suarez wasn't really a match made in heaven. The Barcelona player signed on loan until the end of the season in January, but the move didn't work out and the player returned to his parent club with a groin injury last month.

The 25-year-old made just six appearances for the Gunners, scoring and assisting zero goals.

It has now been revealed by football.london that Arsenal, who were then under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger, along with Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton turned down the chance to sign the player on loan midway through the 2017/18 season.
