Arsenal news: Everton transfer hint, the player Unai Emery 'did not know', Martinelli's rise

Arsenal are well into their pre-season campaign now.

Wins over Colorado Rapids and Bayern Munich in the States have got the fanbase excited for the start of the season.

Unai Emery is in the market for more new signings before the season gets started, although he has a number of exciting youngsters he can call upon too.

Here we round up the biggest stories from around Arsenal in the past 24 hours.

Everton hint

Could Arsenal make it two transfers and two Brazilians?

Gabriel Martinelli is the only Gunners signing so far in the summer transfer window, but Everton Soares has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates.

Everton impressed for Brazil at the Copa America and would be a great signing for Arsenal.

The 23-year-old has dropped a hint on social media that he could be on his way to north London.

Emery's unknown squad player

Freddie Ljungberg is already having an impact as Unai Emery's number two.

The former Arsenal player has stepped up into first team duties, while Steve Bould has dropped down to the academy in a backroom staff change at the Emirates.

And Ljungberg's knowledge of the youth players coming through has been vital to Emery.

And that was none more so evident than during the pre-season tour of America.

Gabriel Martinelli's background

Gabriel Martinelli has hit the ground running at Arsenal.

The teenager from Brazil scored on his first appearance for the club during the 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids.

Much is expected of the £5.3million signing from Ituano and his coaches back in south America have given an insight into just what he was like growing up.

Nketiah warning

Eddie Nketiah was the Gunners' hero as they claimed a 2-1 win over Bayern Munich in their second pre-season game in America.

The youngster has been given a few opportunities to showcase his talents up until this point in his career, and he will be hoping to kick on this season.

Nketiah is determined to break into the Gunners first team on a regular basis during the 2019/20 season and did his chances a world of good after landing man of the match in the showpiece friendly.

And the young man has delivered a warning to first choice pairing Alex Lacazette and Pierre-EMerick Aubameyang.
