Arsenal news: £4.3m windfall, Iwobi responds to Zaha claims, Sanllehi makes transfer decision

Arsenal have one more game in the United States before they return home.

And while Unai Emery is making plans come to fruition on the pitch, Raul Sanllehi is trying to sort out transfer plans off it.

With just under three weeksof the transfer window to go, and the same amount of time until the season starts, there is plenty still to be done at the Emirates.

Here we round up all the latest news from around Arsenal Football Club.

Sanllehi decision

Arsenal fans should be getting ready to see a second summer signing announced.

The Gunners have only brought in Gabriel Martinelli from Ituano so far this summer, with the likes of Wilfried Zaha, William Saliba and Kieran Tierney all linked with joining him at the Emirates.

Saliba appears to be the most likely second signing, with a deal between Arsenal and French side Saint Etienne agreed, according to reports.

Teenage defender Saliba would sign for a fee in the region of £25million, but would return to France on a season-long loan deal.

Here's why a second transfer is imminent.

Surprise windfall

It has been widely reported that the Spaniard only has £45million to spend this summer, although director Josh Kroenke admitted during the tour of the United State that he and his father Stan had never put any restrictions on their spending.

Kroenke has never been known to put his hand in his pocket and invest his own money in the squad, which has always been a bug bear of the supporters, who are desperate to see their team challenge at the very top of the table once more.

Arsenal have only signed Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martnelli so far this summer, although there are plenty of irons in the fire.

And Unai Emery has seen his budget boosted, if only by a little bit.

Here's why.

Iwobi responds to quit claims

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha for much of the summer transfer window, but no move has yet come to fruition.

Zaha is reportedly keen on a move to the Emirates, while Gunners head coach Unai Emery is a keen admirer of the Ivory Coast frotman.

However, both clubs are well apart in their valuations of the 26-year-old, with Arsenal offering around £40million, while the Eagles hierarchy value him at more like £80million.

Alex Iwobi (Stuart MacFarlane / Arsenal Football Club)

Reports in some sections of the media suggested that Alex Iwobi would be prepared to quit if Zaha joined the club after he defiantly said that his arrival would cause "stress".

However, he has moved to clarify those comments in a scathing attack on the media.

Kieran Tierney decision

Arsenal are expected to make a third bid for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney in the coming days as they move closer to the signing of Dani Ceballos.

Celtic have rejected two bids from Arsenal for their left-back, valued at £25million.

The Gunners’ most recent offer could have reached that fee but Celtic felt too much of the deal was based on add-ons. The Scottish champions want more cash up front.

Here's what we know about the latest transfer dealings.
