Arsenal 'name transfer price' for Celtic diehard Kieran Tierney amid Newcastle United interest

Arsenal have reportedly named their price for interested parties to land Kieran Tierney this summer.

The former Celtic hero has been restricted to mostly appearances from the bench in the English Premier League this season with most of his minutes coming in the Europa League and domestic cups due to the form of former Manchester City man Oleksandr Zinchenko. Boss Mikel Arteta has been unable to keep to his rotation promise with the Gunners boss not venturing much away from his winning formula.

The North London outfit are firmly in the race for the English Premier League title this season and hold a two point lead over Manchester City. They face Everton tonight at the Emirates in their game-in-hand as they bid to keep up their title charge. Ex-Celtic star KT, who made the move south of the border for £25million, has only played 12 minutes of league action it the last eight outings with reports claiming he is considering his option in the summer with Newcastle United believed to be keen.

Should the Toon Army or any other club firm up interest in the full-back, The Times report that Arsenal would look to recoup the £25million they paid to land him from Parkhead back in 2019.

Former Rangers midfielder Arteta has promised squad rotation but was non-committal on his answer on the Scotland international and his future. When quizzed about the lack of game time and exit, he said: “I don’t know, I’m not thinking about it, I’m thinking about what’s best for the team and obviously and the players with the right to play minutes which they all deserve and we’re going to try to do that in the next couple of games.”

Steve Clarke will be hoping Tierney can land some minutes between now and the end of the month as he gets read to name his squad for the Euro qualifiers with Cyprus and Spain at Hampden.

Arsenal face Sporting Lisbon next Thursday in the Europa League with the return the following week and after playing in every group game, the former Celtic man will be praying for the chance to play and impress.
