Arteta reveals the one thing he is missing
The absence of fans inside the Emirates Stadium is making it ‘extremely difficult’ to build chemistry with them, according to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.
He admits that the biggest thing he misses is the Arsenal supporters, who are unable to attend games due to the current lockdown restrictions in the UK.
Arteta said: “What I’m missing big time is our fans.
“Because to build something I want with that chemistry, that energy and relation without fans is becoming extremely difficult as they’re getting that synergy between them.
“Watching on TV leaves you a completely different than watching it Iive exactly and what your team is transmitting.”
Sokratis makes U23s appearance
Sokratis Papastathopoulos said it was his 'choice' and an 'honour' to play for Arsenal’s Under-23s against Everton on Friday.
The 32-year-old made his first appearance since the FA Cup final win over Chelsea in August, as he started in the Premier League 2 match alongside Calum Chambers, William Saliba and Joel Lopez at the Emirates Stadium.
After the game, Sokratis posted on social media that he was 'happy to be back on the pitch', with reports in his native Greece suggesting afterwards that it was a ‘relief’ for him to get some game time.
Xhaka rules out Inter transfer
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka does not want to leave the club for Inter Milan.
The Italian giants had hoped to swoop for the Switzerland international in the January transfer window, but according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, that will now not happen.
There were even suggestions that Inter were prepared to use former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as part of a swap deal for Xhaka.
