Arsenal morning headlines as Ian Wright worried about Bukayo Saka amid Thomas Partey update

Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Monday, 30 November.

Saka ‘under a lot of pressure’ - Wright

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed that Bukayo Saka is ‘under a lot of pressure’ to perform both defensively and offensively for the side.

A product of the club’s youth academy, Saka started in Sunday’s home defeat by Wolves - a third successive home loss for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Wright told Premier League Productions: “Well, we are talking about a youngster who has a lot of onus to create for Arsenal and defend with him getting into the England squad as well.

“There seems to be a lot more responsibility on him and what he’s supposed to know at this stage of his career.

“But I think he is under a lot of pressure. I think he has dealt with it well up to this point. But we are seeing certain instances that he has still got a lot to learn. We know what he’s capable of doing going forward and we will probably see that as the time goes by.

“But he’s still learning his trade and he’s learning his trade in a team that seems very low on confidence. They are in transition and he is one of the focal points in terms of creativity. I think it’s a lot for him to carry, at the minute.”

Arteta explains ‘frustrating’ Wolves loss

Mikel Arteta admitted that Sunday night’s home defeat by Wolves was ‘painful’ and spoke of his concern over his side’s lack of goals.

The defeat leaves them languishing in 14th spot in the Premier League with just two goals in their last six league games.

Arteta told reporters after the match, as per football.london: “It’s a frustrating night again losing at home it's painful it’s the third time in a row for different reasons. But, at the end of the day, Wolves had two shots on target they scored two goals.

“We had I don’t know how many entrances into the penalty box, how many crosses, chances situation with more or less efficiency, more or less quality on the final ball but enough for sure not to lose the game or even win it.

“But when the game comes in that situation against Wolves you are so exposed in any ball that you lose in certain areas because they are very counter attacking.

“And this is our reality at the moment this is our level today we can beat anybody but we can also lose as well because the margins are so minimal. If we don’t start to score more goals then obviously the mountain is a big one to climb.”

Partey Arsenal's 'next few games'

Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has a thigh injury that will keep him out of the club’s next few matches, according to boss Mikel Arteta.

The Ghanaian midfielder sustained the injury in the recent home loss against Aston Villa but his spell on the sidelines is not over yet.

Arteta told reporters, as per football.london: "He had an injury very early in the game, he wanted to continue the second half.

"We knew it was a significant injury. He's done very well and he's working very hard, he wants to be available.

"Hopefully we can get him back soon but it's an area we need to be careful and we need to be protective with the player.

"I don't think he will be with us in the next few games."
