Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Friday, August 21.
United bid slows Arsenal attempts for Gabriel
Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes is making a decision over his future after Manchester United reportedly tabled an eleventh-hour bid.
Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio is cited by the Metro as reporting that while the Gunners are still favourites for the Brazilian, he now has a decision to make.
Napoli and Arsenal are the two frontrunners for the central defender, who looks set to be on the move for £22.7million this summer.
But United’s late intervention means there could still be a twist in the tale that might leave Arsenal sweating.
Arsenal make Aouar offer
Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is highly coveted and has now become a transfer target for Arsenal.
A report in football.london cites French outlet L’Equipe as reporting that the Gunners have already tabled a bid for the midfielder which includes Matteo Guendouzi going the other way.
Aouar starred for the Ligue 1 club in their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League this campaign and is thought to be in high demand.
Arsenal technical director Edu could be a key figure in the deal due to his close relationship with his Lyon counterpart Juninho, with whom he played for Brazil in the 2000s.
Sanson on Gunners radar
Another France-based midfielder who could be on his way to the Emirates is Marseille’s Morgan Sanson.
Le Phoceen is cited by football.london as reporting that Sanson is interested in a move to north London, while Matteo Guendouzi is once again reported as possibly going the other direction.
Sanson, 26, has been a regular for Marseille across the past four seasons.
Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his midfield options ahead of his first full season in charge at the Emirates.
