Tierney reacts to Arsenal challenge
Kieran Tierney has responded on Instagram to a challenge issued to him by manager Mikel Arteta.
The former Celtic defender has endured a tough start to his Arsenal career, with injuries restricting him to just five Premier League appearances.
But Arteta, speaking to Ian Wright as part of the Adidas #hometeam campaign , still believes in the Scottish left-back.
"I think he’s going to bring something special to us. It [the injury] has been a shame, but it’s part of his development. During your career, you go through these moments.
"I challenged him to say, Kieran, how are you going to react to that? You can’t feel sorry for yourself, this happened.”
Tierney responded by uploading the entire interview to his Instagram stories, as shown below, suggesting that he backed his manager’s call.
Arsenal fear broadcaster renegotiation
Arsenal and other Premier League clubs are concerned that broadcasters may seek to renegotiate current TV deals once the season restarts.
The Premier League has been on hold since the middle of March, although plans are afoot for the 2019/20 season to resume in June.
However, Arsenal and many of their rivals are worried that key broadcast partners will look to secure fresh terms, according to The Telegraph.
Current deals have two years left to run, but the likes of Sky Sports, BT Sport and beIN Sports could seek adjustments.
A failure to complete the season would see the Premier League lose £1.137billion in potential broadcaster rebates and commercial and matchday revenue.
Arsenal ready Gabriel offer
Arsenal are preparing to submit an official offer for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to reports.
Vinicius Furlan of Tretis TV states that Gabriel has already indicated to Arsenal that he would be interested in joining them.
The 22-year-old has been linked with several other clubs, including Chelsea and Everton, and Arsenal could move soon in the hope of avoiding a bidding war.
Gabriel was one of the most impressive defensive performers in Ligue 1 in the 2019/20 season.
Arteta is thought to be a fan of the left-footed centre-back and Arsenal could seek to hurry the deal along in the coming days.
