Here are the Arsenal morning headlines on Monday, June 29.
Levante star to join Arsenal?
Mikel Arteta will want to reshape his squad during his first summer in charge of Arsenal, so there are sure to be countless transfer rumours linking players with a move to the Emirates.
The latest man in the frame is Enis Bardhi of Levante. Spanish Radio show Onda Deportiva claim the Gunners have already made a bid for the player.
The 24-year-old is an attacking midfielder, who has scored four goals and provided two assists (per WhoScored) in La Liga this season.
Redknapp defends Guendouzi
Matteo Guendouzi was left out of the Arsenal squad for the second match in a row as the Gunners booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a win over Sheffield United.
In his last appearance, he grabbed Neal Maupay’s throat and allegedly mocked Brighton’s players for earning less than him.
Former England international Jamie Redknapp defended Guendouzi for the latter in his latest Daily Mail column.
"I refuse to hammer the 21-year-old for his trash talking against Brighton," he wrote.
"He apparently brought up money with Neal Maupay. It’s crass, it’s unkind, but it happens. It’s happened since day dot in football and it will always happen.”
Dixon on how to get the best out of Guendouzi
Jamie Redknapp wasn’t the only former player commenting on Guendouzi this weekend. Former Arsenal right-back Lee Dixon gave a suggestion on how to get the best out of him, as reported by the Daily Mail.
"If you picked Guendouzi out of the team now and stuck him next to Patrick Vieira, he would be a totally different player because he would be led around the pitch and told where to go,” he said.
Few Gunners fans would argue that adding Vieira to the current team wouldn’t help.
