Arsenal morning headlines as Aubameyang replacement identified, Gunners eye Gabriel Magalhaes

Here are the Arsenal morning headlines for Friday, May 29.

Arsenal want Lille striker - report

The Gunners have identified Lille striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

That is according to a report in Italian outlet La Repubblica, via the Express, who say that Arsenal will raid Lille for the second successive summer having landed Nicolas Pepe from the club last season.

Osimhen, 21, netted in the Ligue 1 club’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Chelsea earlier this campaign and has scored 18 goals across all competitions.

He is likely to be in high demand this summer and could be the ideal player to replace Aubameyang, who is out of contract in a year from now and has been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Magalhaes remains Arsenal target - report

Osimhen is not the only Lille player on Arsenal’s radar, with central defender Gabriel Magalhaes remaining a target for the club.

That is according to French news outlet Le10 Sport who say that the 22-year-old is likely to cost €30million and is also wanted by Italian club Napoli.

The long-term futures of David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi in North London beyond this summer are unclear while Pablo Mari is just on a loan deal from Flamengo.

Magalhaes is an Under-20 international with Brazil.

Gunners likely for free TV

It is probable that at least at handful of Arsenal matches will be on terrestrial TV for the remainder of the Premier League campaign.

As outlined by football.london, Premier League football is set to resume from Wednesday June 17 with a third of the remaining 92 matches to be on free-to-air TV.

With 10 matches left for Mikel Arteta’s side this campaign, the chances are that at least a couple of those games will be broadcast without the need for a sports subscription.

Sky Sports will be showing 25 of their 64 matches in the remainder of the season for free while a further four games will be broadcast on the BBC.

This will be the first time since the league was created in 1992 that Premier League matches have been available on free-to-air channels.
