Arsenal morning headlines as agent makes Mesut Ozil claim, Thomas Partey's two-word message

Here are your Arsenal morning headlines for Saturday, October 24.

Partey’s ‘good feelings’ since Arsenal arrival

Recent Arsenal signing Thomas Partey has issued a succinct message following his debut for the club.

The midfielder joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in a £45million transfer deadline day move.

He made his Arsenal bow as a late substitute in the 1-0 Premier League defeat at Manchester City last weekend and was handed his first start for the club in Thursday night’s Europa League Group B clash away to Rapid Vienna.

Mikel Arteta’s side won 2-1, thanks to goals from David Luiz and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the manager describing Partey’s performance as “really solid, really comfortable” and “fantastic”.

And Ghana international Partey posted three pictures from the match on Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Good feelings”.

It was followed by a raising hands emoji and the hashtags #Arsenal and #UEL (UEFA Europa League).

Ozil’s agent hits back at Arteta

Mesut Ozil’s agent is in the headlines once again for his comments regarding Arsenal manager Arteta.

In an exclusive interview with ESPN, Dr Erkut Sogut hit back at Arteta’s comments regarding his client’s absence from the club’s Premier League and Europa League squads – and urged him to reveal the real reasons behind the 32-year-old’s treatment.

It is looking increasingly likely that Ozil has played his final game for Arsenal – which was the 1-0 win over West Ham United in March.

His contract expires at the end of the season, while Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr reportedly offered him a £15 million-a-year deal over the summer, with talk of a move to Major League Soccer for Ozil, too.

“I do not think there will be a change in the case of Mesut Ozil until the summer of 2021,” Dr Sogut told Turkish Instagram channel futbolgiant in July.

“He has a contract. There is no change. He will remain in Arsenal.”

Wenger set for North London return – to visit Tottenham

Arsenal’s legendary manager Arsene Wenger has been invited to watch Tottenham Hotspur, having not attended a Premier League game since stepping down as Gunners boss in 2018.

But the Frenchman has revealed he has received an invitation from Daniel Levy, chairman of Arsenal’s fiercest rivals Tottenham.

Asked about the fact he hadn’t visited a Premier League stadium since his Arsenal days, Wenger told the Daily Mail : “I will one day.

“Apparently, Tottenham have a fantastic new stadium. I’ve been invited by Daniel Levy.”

If he accepted the invitation, it would mean he could come face to face with his old adversary, current Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho.

The duo had some famous spats, either as wars of words remotely via press conferences or clashing nose-to-nose on the touchline.
