Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira sent a message to Bruno Fernandes ahead of his switch to Manchester United in the January transfer window.
United confirmed on Thursday that an agreement with Sporting Lisbon had been agreed and the transfer has been completed. Fernandes will arrive as a major addition in the mid-season window for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, bolstering a midfield that has suffered following injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.
Ahead of the move, Fernandes's former teammate Torreira, who he played alongside at Sampdoria, sent a message to the 25-year-old.
“I really hope he adapts quickly, particularly as the Premier League is so physical and intense as a championship,” he said on Sky Sports.
“I’m sure he has the right mentality to adapt quickly. Obviously he’s joining a big club in Manchester United so I hope he enjoys the move.”
The pair will not face off in the Premier League this season, however, as United have already played Arsenal twice - drawing at Old Trafford before the defeat at the Emirates Stadium on New Year's Day.
