Lucas Torreira may be involved in English football now over the busy Christmas period, but it is something he recalls watching with admiration while growing up in south America.
The Uruguayan midfielder has experienced the hectic festive schedule once before, having joined Arsenal in the summer of 2018 and been involved last season in Unai Emery's first campaign in charge.
And as he prepares for a second taste of football over Christmas in England, the 23-year-old is relishing the prospect of four games in the space of less than two weeks.
But he has been reflecting on his time in south America seeing the Premier League from afar at Christmas time, and what it meant to him, getting up early to watch the football in the English top flight.
"There were so many things that I enjoyed [about English football growing up] but particularly the festive games over the Christmas and New Year period," Torreira said in an interview with Arsenal.com .
"It doesn't really happen in other countries and I can remember those festive times at home, getting up early. Even though they're played in the afternoon here, they were screened in the morning in Uruguay because of the time difference.
"I remember some great games, lots of goals. For the football coverage where I lived, there was an Argentine commentator who had a very unique way of calling goals. He had a particular chant for every player from each team. That's something I really remember!"
