Arsenal midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga reveals transfer wish as summer exit talk grows

Albert Sambi Lokonga has confirmed his desire to leave Arsenal for first-team football this summer.

Burnley have been linked with a deal for the 23-year-old midfielder, who has failed to nail down a place in the Gunners line-up and spent a quiet loan spell at Crystal Palace in the second half of last season.

Arsenal appear destined to make a loss on their £17million investment from the 2021 summer window but a loan move could also be accepted to grant him his first-team wish.

“I don’t know, I will try to go somewhere I will play,” Lokonga told YouTuber Wonhee Hyung.

“That’s the most important thing, to have some games and play game after game.”

Lokonga looks set to be crowded out of the Arsenal midfield during this transfer market, even with Granit Xhaka set for a £21.5m move to Bayer Leverkusen and Thomas Partey potentially up for sale.

Mikel Arteta is on the cusp of signing Declan Rice from West Ham for £105m and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is also a target.
