Arsenal manager Unai Emery instructed to "gamble" and make one transfer happen

Arsenal manager Unai Emery should take a "gamble" and sign FC Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice in the summer transfer window.

That's according to former Gunners striker Jeremie Aliadiere, who reckons the 21-year-old would provide a lot of bang for his buck.

Claude-Maurice has attracted attention from other Premier League sides in recent weeks, including Everton and West Ham, after impressing in the French Ligue 2 last season, where he netted 14 times and laid on four assists.

What's more, he could be available for as little as £10million this summer transfer window - a huge boost for the cash-strapped Gunners.

Speaking about the youngster to football.london, Aliadiere said: "For the money that we talk about I think he'll [Claude-Maurice] make it. It's about taking a gamble now when other teams aren't prepared to.

"The market has gone so crazy in the last few years. If you want a top level international it's nothing cheaper than £40m.

"If they've only got £45m to spend you've got to shop differently, go a bit younger and sign players from second divisions. He's a good player and has really good qualities.

"At a club like Arsenal that gives chances to young players it would be a good step for him."

Arsenal landed Matteo Gunedouzi from Lorient for just £6million last season, with the youngster arguably being Emery's best signing of his first window.
