Arsenal make Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stance clear amid Barcelona transfer interest

Arsenal have made their stance on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang clear amid interest in the striker from both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners took to their official Twitter account early on deadline day to post throwback images of Aubameyang signing for Arsenal this time in January 2018.

The club opted against reminding the world of any other January signing they've previously made, apparently in the face of the transfer interest surrounding Arsenal's leading marksman Aubameyang.

Gabon international Aubameyang is out of contract at Arsenal in 2021, and the Gunners will have to make a decision soon on whether they'll extend this.

Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing the 30-year-old, but it seems Arsenal aren't prepared to cash in just yet, despite his huge wages.

The Gunners have landed two loan signings this month, snapping up Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares until the end of the season.

The deal for Mari was confirmed on Wednesday, with the Spaniard announcing: "It was a great experience [to face those players].

"It was really exciting to play against a big club and I think I performed really well."

Soares, meanwhile, was confirmed on deadline day. He said: "We were close a few years ago. It didn't happen that time but now thank God it came true.

"I'm super happy. It's amazing this step, to come here and play for Arsenal. To be able to reach this point is unbelievable."
