Arsenal 'make offer' for striker amid Gabriel Jesus and Tammy Abraham transfer problems

Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to sign Alvaro Morata this summer, according to TuttomercatoWEB. The former Chelsea striker has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, with his loan at Juventus coming to an end.

The Spaniard scored nine and assisted seven in 35 Serie A appearances, but the Bianconeri are not said to be close to agreeing a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid. This could open the door to an exit from the Rojiblancos.

For the Gunners, it comes at a time where the striker search is beginning to ramp up following the exit of Alexandre Lacazette. Eddie Nketiah has signed a new long-term deal, but remains the only natural centre-forward option at the club.

A number of options have been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer as Mikel Arteta looks for the right profile to fit his current squad. Gabriel Jesus and Tammy Abraham are two players rumoured to be of interest, however they may not be easy deals to conclude.

On the former, the Gunners appear to be frontrunners throughout the race to sign the Manchester City striker, but aren’t alone in their interest. North London rivals Tottenham have also been monitoring a deal, with Gianluca di Marzio claiming Spurs are working “under the radar” to land him.

As for Abraham, another blow was dealt as reports stated that the England international isn't intending on forcing a move away from Roma this summer. Instead, he is looking to stay in Italy for the foreseeable future.

The reported "offer" made for Morata could be a sign that their options are still open, should any of the others fall through. Whether the 29-year-old is pictured in a red shirt is still yet to be seen, though.
