Arsenal make Konstantinos Mavropanos future decision amid loan offers for defender

Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is set for another loan move away from the Emirates but the Gunners may not let him leave on a permanent basis.

The Greek star has been an impressive performer at German outfit FC Nürnberg.

His displays have attracted the attention of Werder Bremen who are hopeful of keeping Mavropanos in Germany for another year.

Stuttgart are also eyeing the 22-year-old and have connections given their sporting director Sven Mislintat was the man who signed Mavropanos while at the Emirates.

Arsenal are prepared to let the defender have another year away from north London but it is unclear whether they want to include a purchase option in any deal, reports football.london.

Mikel Arteta is poised to enter the next campaign with eight centre-halves on his books once Willian Saliba arrives from Saint Etienne.

However three of those - David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos - will be out of contract at the end of that season.

A serious groin injury hampered Mavropanos when he originally moved to Arsenal and he was sent out to play first team football.

Defensive errors cost Arsenal at the weekend as they lost the north London derby 2-1 despite taking the lead.

A mix up between Luiz and Sead Kolašinac allowed Son Heung-min to equalise with Arteta bemoaning the error.

"An individual error and a set-piece cost us," he said. "When you are so dominant you have to kill the game. I am pleased with a lot of the things I have seen.

"The way we conceded, it has to be more difficult [for the opponent]."

The Gunners have allowed several players to head to Germany on loan in recent years with Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe and Jordi Osei-Tutu all spending time on the continent.
