Arsenal make first-team training addition after three players join Europa League squad

Arsenal youngster Folarin Balogun has rejoined the Gunners' first-team squad for training ahead of Thursday's Europa League tie at home to Norwegian side Molde.

Nineteen-year-old forward Balogun made his senior football debut as a 74th minute substitute for Eddie Nketiah in last week's 3-0 win over the Irish side Dundalk at the Emirates.

The US-born forward scored 25 goals in 19 games for the Gunners' under-18 side, but his future at Arsenal has been shrouded in doubt as he is out of contract at the end of this season and has yet to sign a new one.

Sheffield United are believed to have offered around £3million for his services this summer, but Mikel Arteta wants him to stay and fight for a place in his plans.

Speaking after the game last week, the Gunners boss said: "He’s a player that I really like.

"Obviously I’ve got this situation and I believe it's later than what I would like because I wasn’t here when everything started to develop but yes, he’s a player that I would like to give chances to.

"That’s why he was in the squad today and I showed him that yes, we count on him and we believe in him and if he wants, he’s going to have a future in the club."

Balogun linked up with the first-team again on Wednesday, and he is set to be on the bench against Molde as Arteta can name nine substitutes and use five.

The teenager is on Arsenal's 'B list' of players in the Europa League, which can be updated at any time and can include an unlimited amount of players from the club's academy, who would be eligible for their next Europa League match providing they were registered the day before the game.

On Tuesday it was revealed that a trio of 17-year-olds, defender Zane Monlouis and midfielders Omari Giraud-Hutchinson and Charlie Patino, had all be added to the squad ahead of the Molde game.
