Arsenal could be about to inflict a painful reminder on rivals Tottenham with the latest player to be linked to the club.
Reports suggest the Gunners are in the market for another attacking player and are currently tracking Dinamo Zagreb’s Mislav Orsic.
The 28-year-old Croatian international has 19 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions this season for his club but his most notable strikes came in the Europa League last 16 clash against Arsenal’s bitter rivals.
Orsic scored a sensational hat-trick as Dinamo fought back from a 2-0 first leg defeat to eliminate Spurs in humiliating fashion 3-2 on aggregate.
With the winger’s goals already causing celebration on the red half of north London, Arsenal fans could be watching Orsic far more closely next season.
The Times reports that the Croatian could be a cost effective option for Mikel Arteta as he looks to reshuffle his attacking options.
Primarily playing on the left, Orsic would be expected to provide competition for the likes of Willian on that side of the pitch.
Orsic can also operate behind the main striker, serving as an alternative to Martin Odegaard should the Gunners fail to make the Norwegian’s loan move permanent.
Odegaard has so far impressed in red and white since making the temporary switch from Real Madrid in January.
However, despite the playmaker being the club's transfer priority, the Spanish giants are expected to make any deal difficult to negotiate.
This could force Arteta to turn his attention to Orsic, who would likely come far cheaper than the fee it would take to prise Odegaard from the Bernabeu.
