Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.
Rumoured Barcelona manager could poach target
It was reported earlier on in the month that Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling would be open to a move away. Speaking to FT Business of Sport US Summit , Sterling said: "If there was the opportunity to go somewhere else for more game time I would be open to it at this moment in time.
"As I said, football is the most important thing to me — challenges that I have set myself from a young age and dreams as well.
Arsenal were linked with the England international in the summer transfer window but, now could face competition for the winger if they still want to sign the player.
Spanish football journalist Gerard Romero has said that rumoured new manager and ex-player at Barcelona is keen on Sterling and he is a profile that he ‘likes a lot’ - who could be deployed in a 4-3-3 system.
Our take: It would be interesting to see if Sterling stays in the Premier League if he decides to move on from City, having already played for Liverpool. He might be instead looking for a new challenge away from England in the search for first-team football.
Mark Lawrenson gives Leicester game prediction
Ahead of the Gunners game at the King Power against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, Mark Lawrenson told BBC Sport his predictions for the game.
“I am still not convinced by Arsenal, especially on the road. They are on a nice little unbeaten run but, other than Tottenham, they have not beaten anyone you wouldn't expect them to,” he said.
“Their other wins were against Norwich, Burnley, AFC Wimbledon, Aston Villa and Leeds.”
“The Gunners were fortunate to nick a point at home to Crystal Palace too and, although they have turned a corner in terms of results, really you are just waiting for the next poor performance from them - because it will come."
Slightly harsh from the pundit and a prediction that Arsenal will want to prove wrong in Saturday's game.
Noa Lang deemed a ‘headache’
Voetbal24 have reported that Clubbe Brugge are seeing Arsenal’s consistent links with Noa Lang as a ‘major headache’. Inter Milan are also vying for the player and the Belgian club are not taking it in their stride.
Brugge want the Dutch winger to stay at the club and per the report are using a high fee to ‘scare off’ clubs.
But, it also states that if a suitable offer lands on their table from Arsenal or Milan, it will be one difficult to refuse.
