Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has dropped the clearest hint yet that he could be ready to join Beskitas permanently.
Following the arrival of Dani Ceballos on a season-long loan deal from Real Madrid coupled with the first-team promotion of Joe Willock in the summer, first-team football for the Egypt international would have been limited.
He was already behind Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira in the pecking order and the door has been open for him to leave the Emirates Stadium since last January.
Elneny eventually departed for Turkey during the closing stages of the summer transfer window and has been a regular in the side this season after bouncing back from a red card on his Besiktas debut.
A return to Arsenal does look unlikely at this stage and the midfielder is set to have a couple of offers when his loan spell expires at the end of the season.
Not only has there been talk of joining Beskitas for £15 permanently, but AC Milan have also been linked with a move. Yet it would appear that Elneny is keen to stay put.
"I’m 100 per cent focused on Besiktas now, I want to win the league and the cup," he told FourFourTwo.
"It feels like it’s my home now, I’m happy here, we play good football with a really good coach.
"The team will become stronger every game and I have a really good chance to be successful with this team."
Despite being away from north London, Elneny remains in contact with a number of players and is keeping a close eye on events at his parent club.
He is back in England for a Europa League clash against Wolves tonight and says the Arsenal stars are working to get out of their current situation.
"Of course I’m talking with my team-mates and they know it’s a hard situation. Arsenal have never been like this before and everyone feels it," he added.
"Everyone is pushing hard to get out of the situation because they know how big Arsenal are.
"They need to win some games to feel good inside. After that everything will come. You just need some wins."
