Arsenal live Q&A: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang contract latest, Mikel Arteta, transfers and Fulham

Good afternoon and welcome to our latest Arsenal Q&A with football.london club writer Art de Roche.

The Gunners kick off their Premier League season on Saturday [September 12] with a trip to newly promoted Fulham looking to build on the momentum formed by Mikel Arteta and his squad last term.

Despite a frustrating eighth place finish in the Premier League, the performances of the Spaniard's side alongside the victory in the FA Cup final and Community Shield against Chelsea and Liverpool respectively have given fans reason for encouragement.

As things stands, the club have made three signings in the summer transfer window.

What is next for Arsenal in the transfer window?

Willian was first to arrive on a free after the expiration of his Chelsea contract this summer. Gabriel Magalhaes was then signed for £25million from Lille, and Dani Ceballos has returned for another season-long loan from Real Madrid.

The Gunners are still rumoured to be interested in midfield priorities Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar with just under a month left in the window. Deadline day stands at October 6 when dealing with clubs outside the EFL.

Arsenal are also expected to confirm the extension of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract with the club. The 31-year-old's current deal expires next summer, but Arteta has remained confident that he will be able to keep his club captain whenever the topic has been brought to his attention.

Key to the club both on the pitch and off it, Aubameyang is expected to sign a three-year deal to extend his stay with the club.

Arteta himself is due to hold his pre-match press conference for the Premier League opener against Fulham on Friday [September 11], but opposition manager Scott Parker has already addressed the media ahead of the game.

"They [Arsenal] can be a big force. Mikel has done a fantastic job in a short space of time. Quality in their ranks is vast. It's a big season for them but for us as well," the 39-year-old said in his pre-match press conference.

"They're a quality team. We'll prepare to get a result and hurt them where we feel we can punish them. We can understand their threat, where they can hurt us. We understand where their weaknesses are - not big ones but ones to try and exploit where we can."
