Arsenal linked with £1m transfer for former Notts County man

Former Notts County defender Luther James-Wildin is a transfer target for Arsenal.

According to football.london, the 21-year-old has been scouted by Unai Emery's side extensively and the Gunners are continuing to make checks on the right-back.

First-choice right-back Hector Bellerin is sidelined for the first six weeks of the campaign, while doubts remain over Carl Jenkinson.

The Leicester-born Antigua and Barbuda international came through the ranks at Meadow Lane before being released in 2017.

James-Wildin joined Jamie Vardy's V9 academy, aimed at helping Non-League talent find a professional club, earning a move to Nuneaton.

He joined Stevenage and flourished last season, making 39 League Two appearances and scoring once with three assists to boot.

Now the Gunners could be poised to make a £1 million move for James-Wildin, who won Stevenage's young player of the year award last season.

It is understood Arsenal scouts watched the youngster play the first half of Tuesday's friendly at Wingate and Finchley.
