Arsenal lineups as Alexandre Lacazette and Kieran Tierney decisions made for Leicester

After securing safe passage in to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Leeds at the Emirates on Tuesday night, Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend.

The Gunners travel to the King Power Stadium to play Leicester where they'll be hoping to keep up an impressive record that has seen them go eight matches unbeaten since their nightmarish start to the season.

While Mikel Arteta has been able to pick a relatively settled line up for most of those games, a few injuries and interesting differences in form threaten to change that this weekend.

Ben White is a doubt along with Pablo Mari and a few others after picking up a stomach bug that has spread through the camp at London Colney.

Martin Odegaard is also struggling with an injury while Kieran Tierney is undergoing a late fitness test after sustaining an ankle bruise last week.

This leaves Arteta with plenty of tough decisions to make but luckily football.london's Arsenal writers Kaya Kaynak and Chris Wheatley are on hand to let us know who they would pick for the game.

Kaya Kaynak - Arsenal writer

Aaron Ramsdale is an obvious one to continue in goal despite the good performance of Bernd Leno in midweek, but it's in front of him where I'd ring the changes.

Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy are two potent strikers so Arsenal's defenders will need to be on the top of their game if they are to keep up their impressive recent record.

It's for this reason that I wouldn't play the half fit Kieran Tierney or Ben White.

Tierney can be easily replaced by Nuno Tavares, but White's replacement is a little more tricky.

Rob Holding limped off against Leeds, so by my own logic it would have to be a fully fit Calum Chambers who starts. Hopefully the England international will be back full of confidence after his goal in midweek.

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Thomas Partey would continue in midfield for me and in front of them I'd keep Bukayo Saka on the right and Emile Smith Rowe on the left particularly after the underwhelming performances of Gabriel Martinelli and Nicolas Pepe in midweek.

Up front I don't really feel it actually was a 4-4-2 last week contrary to the popular narrative surrounding the Villa game as Alexandre Lacazette played more of a hybrid 9.5 role.

Regardless I'd keep the Frenchman in the side and partnered with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang where the two can hopefully do some damage to Leicester's back three.

Kaynak's Arsenal XI vs Leicester: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Chambers, Gabriel, Tavares; Partey, Sambi Lokonga; Saka, Lacazette, Smith Rowe; Aubameyang.

Chris Wheatley - Chief Arsenal correspondent

For me the Arsenal back five needs to kept as in tact as possible given the attacking threat that Leicester pose with Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy so if Ben White is fit I'd start him.

That said though Kieran Tierney could do with a rest and given how well Nuno Tavares played last time out at Villa I wouldn't look to rush the Scottish international back.

My midfield double pivot would stay the same but it's further forward where I would look to make changes.

Saka and Smith Rowe stay on the right and left wings where I think they're at their best respectively, but for me I would look to bring in Martin Odegaard for Alexandre Lacazette.

The Frenchman was great last week, but I feel as though the creative guile of Odegaard is what's needed to break down quite a resolute defence.

Aubameyang would be my number nine in front of him in the hope that he can get on the end of the eye of the needle passes the Norwegian is capable of producing.

Wheatley's Arsenal XI vs Leicester: Ramsdale, Tomiyasu, White, Gabriel, Tavares, Partey, Lokonga, Smith Rowe, Odegaard, Saka, Aubameyang.
