Arsenal legend Thierry Henry gives glowing verdict on Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has named his top three strikers currently playing in the Champions League.

The Frenchman scored 50 goals in the competition during his playing career and won the trophy with Barcelona in 2009.

Henry, now a pundit for CBS was asked to put his top three No.9's in order.

Here, the legendary striker explains his decisions...

3. Robert Lewandowski

The Bayern Munich talisman is the third highest scorer in Champions League history. However the fact he’s only won the competition once, stopped him from being higher on the list.

Henry said: “I think he’s been doing it for a very long time, one of the best predators I have seen in the game but he won one Champions League. The guys that are ahead of him have won it multiple times.”

2. Karim Benzema

The Real Madrid striker is behind Lewandowski in fourth place in the Champions League all time leading scorers list, but has won European football’s top prize on four occasions.

Henry said: “I think he is the most complete striker in the world, he can do everything at ease and has answered the call since Ronaldo left, he won the Champions League so many times and I think that’s good enough for number two.”

The Manchester United star is the top scorer in the history of the Champions League with 135 goals, and has won the competition five times.

Henry said: “You have to give this guy a lot of credit, why? Because simply what he has done with the national team, what he's doing right now for United.

“What he has been doing for Juve, Real Madrid and United before, it is second to none if we’re talking about a No.9, you have to give him his respect.”
