Arsenal legend slams Stan Kroenke model over missing out on Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Man United

Charlie Nicholas has urged Arsenal to move quickly in order to recruit defensive reinforcements following reports that Manchester United's move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka is moving closer.

football.london understands that the Gunners sent their top level scouts to watch the Crystal Palace man last season, but appear to have been priced out of a move following a sensational campaign for the Eagles.

That means that it's back to the drawing board for the north London side who are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, and according to Nicholas it's crucial that the club move swiftly.

He told  Sky Sports : “We’re being slow again in the market. The manager has identified plenty of options. Defensively is the key area.

“I just hope we don’t delay these deals. Arsenal need to get into the market.

“We need three defenders to come in which will cost £60-£70m.

“We can’t afford someone like Aaron Wan-Bissaka but we need a whole new defence really."

Arsenal are likely to have in the region of £45million to spend on signings this summer, meaning that they may need to sell in order to be able to attract the players that they crave.
