Former Arsenal star Ian Wright says he wants to see his old club showing the fight displayed by Matteo Guendouzi in the defeat to Brighton.
The Gunners blew a one-goal lead in the final 15 minutes against the Seagulls on Saturday, losing 2-1.
During the game, Guendouzi had a relentless battle with Brighton striker Neal Maupay, angered by the coming together between the striker and Gunners keeper Bernd Leno which saw the latter stretchered off.
After the game, Guendouzi appeared to grab Maupay around the neck and shove him to the ground, an incident that may yet get him in trouble.
But former striker turned pundit Wright believes that fight is what Arsenal need, just during the 90 minutes rather than at the full-time whistle.
"Him (Maupay) and Guendouzi have been having it all game, and I think he was talking about Guendouzi at the end, he’s given a bit at the end and he’ll (Guendouzi) probably get in trouble for that," he said.
"We need to be showing that fight."
Speaking about the incident which saw Leno pick up what appears to be a serious injury, Wright added: "First of all, I’m really gutted for Bernd, I hope it’s not a bad one.
"Everybody can see he’s (Maupay) not doing it to be malicious, he’s got the ball in his hand and it’s a freakish fall."
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked about Leno's injury after the game.
He replied: "It doesn't look good but we don't know anything yet."
