Arsenal legend Ian Wright makes surprise Harry Kane injury claim as he criticises Tottenham

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made a debatable claim about Harry Kane amid the injuries which are hindering the Tottenham captain.

Kane is sidelined until at least April thanks to a hamstring injury which has the potential to derail the club's aims for the Premier League top four.

The 26-year-old has had several ankle and ligament injuries in recent campaigns, with the striker sitting out the latter part of last season due to a ligament problem.

Wright has now declared that he believes Kane has 'slowed down' and he is blaming Tottenham for bringing him back from injuries too quickly on previous occasions.

"He's always rushed back (from injury). He's always under pressure at Tottenham to have to get back. They haven't had that number two striker that comes in and steadies the ship," Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport's the Monday Football Club.

"When you watch Harry Kane in the last two or three years especially he does seem to have slowed down a little. He seems to have changed his game for not as much hard running."

Kane could be back in action when April rolls around but Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has admitted that he does not know exactly when the forward will return.

"The answer is the same on Harry. We expect him to be out until, I don't know, mid April or the end of April," Mourinho told the press.

"May or next season, who knows? I don't know."
