Arsenal legend Ian Wright makes Chelsea vs Tottenham Premier League prediction

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has made his prediction for Sunday's London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham.

Spurs were top of the table after nine games - Liverpool moving ahead after they played on Saturday - with Jose Mourinho's men two points ahead of Frank Lampard's men who are now 13 games unbeaten across all competitions.

Tottenham are five games unbeaten, but they are attracting plenty of plaudits after their statement win over Manchester City last weekend, winning 2-0 to go some way in proving their title credentials.

Sunday's clash looks to be too hard to call and that's exactly how Gunners legend Wright sees it, tipping an entertaining draw at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea vs Spurs is special rivalry

“I’m going to go with a draw, probably 2-2 or something. I fancy a draw in that game," he told Optus Sport.

Wright also tipped Spurs to follow the blueprint Mourinho put together to defeat Pep Guardiola's City.

The former Arsenal striker added: “When you’re playing against teams like Manchester City or Arsenal or even Chelsea, who will try and come at you, why not do what Tottenham are doing? It’s very effective. If you don’t pick up Harry Kane and you’ve got runners behind.

“Against City, they totally exposed them with the quality. The ball [Tanguy] Ndombele put in, Harry Kane’s great movement in front, Son [Heung-min] going beyond. I think that works for them.

“I’d be interested to see the Tottenham fans in there now because that works. The way they are playing works and it looked pretty good against Manchester City the other day.”

Both teams were in European action during the week, Spurs defeating Ludogorets 4-0 in the Europa League while Chelsea beat Rennes in the Champions League, booking their place in the knockout stage.

Chelsea have had an extra 48 hours of rest ahead of Sunday's game but Mourinho is not complaining.

"Every game in the Premier League is important and since the moment that we were in the Europa League we knew we were to always play on the Thursday," he said ahead of the game.

"In the Champions League [Chelsea] have the option of the Tuesday or Wednesday and in that case they were lucky this week that the draw gave them a Tuesday match that will allow them to prepare for the match on Sunday.

"Eventually I don't know if they gave them a day off but plenty of time to work. That's not a new thing. That happens all the time. We knew that since we went into the Europa League so we're not going to complain about it."
