Arsenal: Leandro Trossard fires warning to team-mates over Sevilla test

Leandro Trossard has warned Arsenal cannot afford to replicate their slow start against Chelsea when they travel to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Gunners were lacklustre at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and Declan Rice said their first-half display was the worst they have played all season.

Arsenal rallied in the second to snatch a 2-2 draw, with Rice and Trossard scoring late on. But Trossard has told his team-mates they need to start fast when away at Sevilla.

Arsenal head to Spain needing a win after they lost to Lens earlier this month.

“We always want a result. We want to win every game,” said Trossard. “That is how we approach every game as well. That is how we will do it for Sevilla and make sure we are ready for that.

“It is a tough place to go. For Lens it was so many years since they played there as well, so I think we just need to make sure we are at it from the first minute.

“If we are playing our game and if we can control the game, I am absolutely sure that we can win those games. But if we are not, we give them a chance.”

Arsenal had looked dead and buried against Chelsea and Trossard has praised the spirit in the squad after they kept up their unbeaten start in the Premier League going.

“Well done to the boys - they never let their heads go down and kept believing,” he said.

“You can see you only need one moment to change a game. Declan scored a great goal and that got us into the game and believing again and, as you can see, we were still able to take points away.”
