Arsenal join Tottenham in '£45m transfer battle' for Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos

Arsenal have reportedly entered the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

Ceballos is weighing up his future at the Bernabeu after two frustrating seasons since his move from Real Betis.

He managed just 13 La Liga starts last term but is catching the eye with some impressive performances for Spain Under-21s at the European Championships.

AS reports Ceballos, 22, is considering seeking a loan move this summer but Zinedine Zidane is ready to let him go on a permanent basis.

Tottenham have been interested in the youngster for some time with Real demanding at least £45m before they even begin negotiations, with a repurchase option also likely to be included.

It is claimed Arsenal have now joined the race to sign Ceballos and would be willing to meet Real's asking price.

The Gunners have a transfer budget of just £40m this summer and will have to sell their own stars before making any move.

The likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan can go for the right offer while Unai Emery will also listen to bids for Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Shkodran Mustafi.

But one player who isn't for sale is Lucas Torreira, despite AC Milan's attempts to take him back to Italy.

An attacking wide player remains a priority while Arsenal have also had two bids rejected for Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney.

Tottenham meanwhile are interested in Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso as Mauricio Pochettino finally gets set to spend.

The deals would need Spurs to break their transfer record twice to land Ndombele from Lyon and Real Betis star Lo Celso.
