Arsenal issued warning over key player who could follow Samir Nasri example and join Man City

Arsenal have been warned that they could struggle to keep hold of their talented attackers, including Bukayo Saka, following their fine display against Manchester City on Saturday.

While Mikel Arteta's men were defeated by a late Rodri goal at the Emirates, the 2-1 loss was arguably the Gunners' best display of the season as they outplayed Pep Guardiola's side for most of the match.

It was Saka who popped up in the first-half to fire the north Londoners into the lead, only for a Riyad Mahrez penalty and Rodri's stoppage-time finish to leave them with nothing.

Back in October, former Arsenal defender Ray Parlour spoke of Saka's brilliance.

"Saka has been a revelation, he and Smith Rowe have been the main guys up front creating chances,” Parlour told talkSPORT.

“The way he took his goal today [vs Newcastle], it was fantastic. His movement, his runs off the ball, he’s got so much intelligence. He really can play anywhere.

“The England call up and playing regularly for England now has given him more belief. He can be anything he wants to be."

This season has seen the 20-year-old find the net six times and assist four more goals in 20 Premier League appearances as Arsenal chase down a surprise place in next season's Champions League.

However, Parlour has now offered a warning to both the fans and Arteta, stating that the likes of Manchester City will undoubtedly be monitoring the player and could make a move for him in the future.

Arsenal to City is a well-trodden path, with the likes of Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy all making the move previously.

"I look at the young team [at Arsenal], they can develop and keep improving," Parlour told talkSPORT, via the Mirror.

"You know what the hardest thing is going to be? It’s keeping the players.

"You know [what’s happened] over the years. Saka must be on people’s radar all day long, a big side like Manchester City must be looking at him going, ‘he’ll improve our side’."
