Arsenal Invincible Lauren posts message Gunners fans will love after Liverpool's Watford loss

Former Arsenal star Lauren has taken to social media following the end of Liverpool's Invincibles bid.

The ex-Gunners star was one of the team who managed to write their names in history in 2004 after finishing the Premier League season unbeaten.

Jurgen Klopp's side made it 27 games of the current season without losing a game, 26 of those coming as wins, with a solitary draw against Manchester United.

However, a shock 3-0 defeat to Watford on Saturday evening brought that run to a shuddering halt.

The Reds had put in some mixed performances of late, with narrow wins against relegation candidates Norwich and West Ham sandwiching a 1-0 defeat in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid.

And they finally came unstuck in the league against Nigel Pearson's Watford, who put in a spirited second half display to take all three points.

Two goals from Ismaila Sarr and a third from captain Troy Deeney sealed the result, with much relief coming from Arsenal fans  - and the club's official Twitter account following the result.

And former Gunners star Lauren also chimed in with a message to fans about his team's achievement - as well as a message to Liverpool following their incredible run.

Klopp's side now lead the Premier League by (just) 22 points, with Manchester City having a game in hand.

Arsenal, meanwhile, sit 10th in the table and are four points shy of a potential Champions League place behind Manchester United in fifth - should City's appeal against a European ban from FIFA prove unsuccessful.

They are a further four point behind Chelsea in fourth place, who have played a game more than Mikel Arteta's side.
