Arsenal are waiting on the fitness of Mesut Ozil after he missed Sunday's north London derby with a back injury.
"He has backache," Emery said after Arsenal's 4-2 win, repeating the club's press release from earlier that afternoon.
When did he get that injury?
"I don't know," Emery replied.
So where was Ozil?
"I don't know," he said.
Had he been told he wasn't going to play against Tottenham?
"This is a good day to speak about players who played," Emery said with a forced smile, clearly trying to change the subject.
Lacazette returned for Sunday's win over Tottenham, while Nacho Monreal, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Danny Welbeck remain sidelined.
Welbeck faces a lengthy spell out, but Mavropanos and Monreal are expected back in December.
