Arsenal injury news: Gunners receive boost as Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin near first team return

Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney are responding well in their rehabilitation and look set to return for Arsenal in the coming weeks.

Unai Emery has been without the full-backs, who could both feature in his strongest line-up moving forward.

Tierney arrived from Celtic with a groin problem, but is now on track to join full training in September.

Likewise, Bellerin, after a devastating knee injury last season, will join the full group at some point next month.

Rob Holding is nearly fully fit, having overcome a left knee problem with 90 minutes for the Under-23s against Everton on Friday.

Youngster Emile Smith Rowe could provide another dynamic to this Gunners side once fully fit.

Following 80 minutes with the Under-23s on Friday, Smith Rowe then played 90 minutes on Tuesday for the Under-21s against Northampton Town.

Emery looks set to have more defensive options soon, with Dinos Mavropanos making good progress from his groin injury.

And, like Bellerin and Tierney, will join the group at some point next month.

Emery is currently preparing his side for Tottenham in the first north London derby of the season on Sunday.
