Arsenal in talks with Nottingham Forest over Matt Turner sale as Gunners pave way for David Raya signing

Arsenal are in talks with Nottingham Forest over the sale of goalkeeper Matt Turner.

A fee is yet to be agreed, but the clubs are currently negotiating a figure around the £7million mark.

Turner leaving will pave the way for Brentford goalkeeper David Raya to join Arsenal and the Gunners remain locked in talks with the Bees over a fee.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has said how the club want £40m for Raya, who has one year left on his contract.

The Spaniard would replace Turner in the Arsenal squad and compete with Aaron Ramsdale to be the club’s No1.

Turner joined the Gunners last summer from MLS side New England Revolution for an initial fee of around £5.5m.

The 29-year-old did not make a single Premier League appearance for Arsenal last season, but he did feature for them in Europa League and FA Cup.

Turner also impressed for the USA at the World Cup in December and helped them win the Gold Cup last month.
