Arsenal 'in talks' with Juventus to seal Adrien Rabiot transfer deal - reports

Arsenal have entered talks with Serie A giants Juventus about the possibility of signing French midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the next transfer window, a report by French media outlet Le10Sport claims.

Juventus are open to the idea of cashing in on the midfield enforcer this summer as they look to try and raise funds in an attempt to bolster other areas of Maurizio Sarri's squad, as well as putting plans in place to try and sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba for a second time.

It is claimed that Juventus' plan to offload Rabiot in the next window, with a view to claiming some much-needed funds following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, has put both the Gunners and Everton on red alert, as both clubs look into the possibility of landing the 25-year-old's signature.

Before joining Juventus from French champions Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Arsenal were already being linked with a move for his signature, with the midfielder having established himself as one of the best central-midfield players in European footballer.

However, after joining Juventus last summer on a free-transfer, the French international's time in Turin has not gone according to plan, with him having made just 17 Serie A appearances.

Only recently, former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi pleaded with his former club to sell both Rabiot and former Gunners man Aaron Ramsey in the next transfer window in an effort to raise the funds to bring Pogba back to Turin, just four years after he returned to United.

Tacchinardi recently told Tuttosport : “In order to get Pogba back, I would let Rabiot and Ramsey go, even if the Welshman did show a few signs of life in the last few games.”

According to the report in France, Rabiot has now been placed on the transfer list by Juventus, sparking immediate interest from Arsenal and Everton, with Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti having worked with the France midfielder during his time in charge of PSG.

It is claimed that Juventus would demand a fee of somewhere in the region of £27million to part with the midfielder.

In total this season, Rabiot has made 24 appearances for Juventus this term, failing to score or register a single assist.
