Arsenal in Dubai picture special: Tierney, Mari, Aubameyang and Pepe train on day two

Arsenal's next Premier League encounter is a home game against Newcastle United.

However, the first-ever winter break in the top flight of English football means the clash at the Emirates Stadium takes place a week on Sunday.

And just like last season, the north London outfit are taking advantage of a gap in the fixture list and have returned to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp.

What Arsenal need to do during the winter break

A statement via Arsenal.com reads: "Our first-team squad is heading for a training camp in Dubai during the forthcoming winter break.

"They will arrive on February 7, returning on February 11.

"Emirates Airline, whose partnership with the club is one of the most recognisable and long-standing in sport, will be flying the team to Dubai.

"Mikel Arteta will use the training camp to bring the squad together in a warmer climate as part of preparations for the fixture against Newcastle United on February 16, the Europa League clash against Olympiacos four days later and the run-in that follows.

"As we prepare for several key fixtures, we are looking forward to a change of routine with some warm-weather training," Arteta said.

"Dubai is a fantastic place and the football facilities there are first class. It will do us good to experience a change of environment before we enter a crucial part of the season."

Day two of the Dubai training camp brought about a triple injury boost for Mikel Arteta.

Kieran Tierney, Sead Kolasinac and Reiss Nelson all took part in the training session and some fans are speculating that the Scotland international is way ahead of schedule.

Elsewhere, the Arsenal squad including the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Sokratis and new signing Pablo Mari were put through their paces at the club's training base in Dubai on Saturday afternoon.
