Liverpool and Manchester United chasing new Mikel Arteta favourite as Arsenal wait on contract

Liverpool and Manchester United are said to be eyeing a move for Arsenal's young star Bukayo Saka.

The 18-year-old has recently burst through at the Emirates Stadium, playing in a variety of roles under Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta this season.

Saka made his Gunners debut in January 2019, but has made his real breakthrough this season, making 23 appearances so far.

However, Saka has entered the final 18 months remaining on his current Arsenal contract, and that means the big clubs are taking notice.

According to the Mail, both Manchester United and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Saka, despite reports that talks on a new deal are ongoing.

Saka currently earns around £3,000-per-week in North London, but the Gunners are hoping he will commit his long-term future to Arsenal.

Bayern Munich are also said to be watching the situation, with the Bundesliga taking a keen interest in young Premier League talent lately - with an attempted move for Callum Hudson-Odoi last January, and their signing of former Gunners youngster Serge Gnabry.

Saka has been asked to fill in over a number of roles during his time at the Emirates Stadium, having played as an attacker, a wing-back and left-back this season.
