Arsenal have held positive talks with Kieran Tierney over a new contract and are hopeful of tying him down to a fresh deal.

Tierney joined Arsenal in the summer of 2019 from Celtic for a fee in the region of £25million, and he has impressed in England.

The left-back has become a key part of Mikel Arteta’s squad and has established himself as a leader in the group.

Arsenal want to reward Tierney for his fine form and have held positive talks with him over a new contract.

The club are hopeful and growing in confidence that the Scotland international will now put pen to paper on a new five-year deal in the coming days.

That would be a huge boost for Arsenal, who are preparing for a busy summer transfer window.

The club wants to do plenty of business, but tying Tierney down to a new long-term contract was an aim for them too.
