Arsenal hit by Lucas Torreira injury blow after midfielder stretchered off against Portsmouth

Arsenal were handed a major blow in the opening exchanges of their FA Cup fifth round clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park as Lucas Torreira was forced of through injury.

The Uruguayan was left in pain following a strong challenge from James Bolton, which led to Dani Ceballos coming on as his replacement after only 16 minutes.

It is also a blow for the 24-year-old himself, as it was his first start for Arsenal in over a month - with his last appearance coming in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea towards the end of January.

The full extent of Torreira's injury is not yet know, with BT Sport stating during the match that he had been taken to an ambulance and given a preliminary examination.

However, they later added that he would not be taken for hospital, likely meaning he will have a scan on the injury tomorrow where the full extent will be revealed.

Arsenal could be without Torreira for their upcoming match in the Premier League against West Ham this weekend, the first in two weeks following the postponement of the tie with Manchester City due to the Carabao Cup final.
