Arsenal hero claims Jose Mourinho has not changed anything at Tottenham

Arsenal hero Charlie Nicholas has claimed that Jose Mourinho has not changed anything at Tottenham, following the recent defeat to London rivals Chelsea.

The Spurs boss has suffered three defeats in his first eight matches in North London, although they came at the hands of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and the Blues.

However, the defeat last time out to Chelsea has raised plenty of questions about the Spurs squad once again and their ability to compete for a top-four finish.

While Mourinho has steadied the ship, with Spurs seventh in the table and six points behind Chelsea following their recent defeat, Nicholas believes not much has changed.

"I have been really impressed with Brighton, but they were poor against Sheffield United. At the same time, Tottenham were awful and well-beaten against Chelsea. Heung-Min Son's red card tells you all you need to know. Have things changed under Jose Mourinho? I don't think they have," he told Sky Sports.

Tottenham: A look back at 2019

"Harry Kane looks off the pace and Jan Vertonghen is really struggling to deal with pace. If I were Brighton I would get Leandro Trossard on his side and really test him. It's essential that Spurs stay in the frame for the top four so for that reason alone I think they will get over the line."

Despite his claim, he still believes that Spurs will secure all three points from their Boxing Day meeting and has predicted a 2-1 victory.
