Arsenal have shown title credentials with Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar landmark

Arsenal took another step towards the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon with a convincing 3-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

First-half goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard did the damage for the Gunners to restore their five-point lead at the top of the table. The gap between themselves and Manchester City was temporarily shortened to two points on Saturday after the Citizens defeated Crystal Palace.

It was a successful 10-mile trip to Fulham with Gabriel Jesus marking his return from injury in the 77th-minute. The striker suffered medial ligament damage at the World Cup and had not featured for the Gunners for 120 days.

"Really happy," Mikel Arteta said. "It's a really tough place to come, they're a really well organised team and I think we dominated the game, we created lots of chances, we kept a clean sheet and we won the game in a convincing way. So I'm happy."

The performance and result was one of champions, with the Gunners keeping their first clean sheet in four games and scoring two or more goals for the fourth consecutive game.

Despite some pointing at the disadvantage of not having an out-and-out striker, like Man City, Arsenal reached a rather impressive landmark after the win on Sunday. Odegaard's goal was his 10th of the season, meaning he joins Bukayo Saka and Martinelli with 10 or more goals this season.

Only Paris Saint-Germain join the north Londoners in having three players with 10+ goals. Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have achieved impressive statistics.

It's fair to suggest Jesus would be on the same tally, had he remained free from injury. The Brazilian had scored five goals in 14 league games prior to his injury and was a vocal point in Arteta's style of play.
