Arsenal have no plans to sell Alexandre Lacazette in January transfer window, insists Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal currently have no plans to sell Alexandre Lacazette in January.

The Frenchman is into the final year of his Gunners contract and could leave for free next summer.

Lacazette, however, has been performing well off the bench this season when given the chance to impress.

And when asked if Arsenal could sell Lacazette in January, Arteta said: “No plans.”

Lacazette is one of a number of players around Europe whose contract is running down and Arteta believes it will become more common going forward.

“It is happening more with big players than it has probably ever happened,” he said.

“There is a reason behind it and it might change, it might not. That’s why I say we are not the only club with those kind of situations, and as well with everything we had to do in the past 18 months.

“We just have to try to deal with the situations that we face in the best possible way.”
