Mikel Arteta and Edu are facing several big transfer decisions at Arsenal this summer.
From who should replace the outgoing Granit Xhaka to the best creative midfield signing, it's safe to say the Gunners' manager and technical director have little room for error if they're to avoid a third straight eighth-place finish in the Premier League next season.
Another decision that could be on the horizon, is signing another striker.
This week has seen Arsenal linked with a move for Real Sociedad and Sweden youngster Alexander Isak, a surprise rumour given it's a department where they're well-stocked at the moment.
The 21-year-old is coming off an impressive season with 17 goals and two assists across all competitions and would be an exciting signing if Edu can pull a deal off.
The latest reports coming out of Spain claim the Gunners have 'contacted' Isak's representatives to find out about the striker's contract situation as he still hasn't put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
But with a reported €70million (£60.2m) release clause in his contract, do Arsenal need to pursue a deal this summer?
Well, as reported by The Athletic any potential move for Isak is dependant on the Gunners cashing in on a striker with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah linked with summer exits.
However, with other areas of the squad in need of major surgery - most notably in midfield - a new centre-forward shouldn't really be close to the top of any priority list.
Luckily, Arsenal already have a striker to save them millions this summer.
At the end of April, it was announced that Folarin Balogun, who netted two senior goals this season in the Europa League - had signed a new deal and his aim to establish himself as a first-team player next season.
"My ambitions for next season are to make an impact on the first team," he said. "I see it as something I've taken upon myself to be able to go over there and make an impact and not just be one of the numbers.
"I want to be someone who eventually leads that group so I would say I have quite driven ambitions and we’ll see if I can make them happen."
football.london understands that Balogun will be assessed in pre-season training next month, with the expectation that he will compete for a first-team spot next term.
Of course, his chances would improve greatly if Lacazette and Nketiah were to leave, but he can also use pre-season to remind Arteta and Edu that there's no need to splash £60m on a new striker.
Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have become regulars in the past two seasons, and early signs suggest Balogun can make it a hat-trick if given a chance.
