Arsenal handed triple boost with Mikel Arteta set to make Martin Odegaard decision

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have been handed a triple boost ahead of the side's Carabao Cup second round tie with West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night.

Alexandre Lacazette, who has now recovered from Covid, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli have all returned to training, with the latter two recovering from injury.

Hector Bellerin is also being assessed ahead of the cup tie at The Hawthorns, where the Gunners will be hoping to return to winning ways after their poor start in the Premier League.

Arsenal have also confirmed that new signing Martin Odegaard will be available for selection, with Arteta set to make a decision on whether to hand the former Real Madrid star his second debut with the club.

Odegaard, who recently completed a £30million permanent transfer to the Gunners, has now seen his visa receive full clearance and is available for selection.

Whether or not the Norway international will be risked, though, remains to be seen on how seriously Arteta is taking the Carabao Cup this season.

Meanwhile, Gabriel has returned to training after suffering an injury to his right knee while on international duty with Brazil over the summer.

Martinelli suffered lower leg cramps on Sunday, similarly to Kieran Tierney, who is also training with the squad.

Ben White will not be available for the trip to the Midlands, with the England international still unavailable after testing positive for Covid-19.

Arsenal also confirmed that Willian 's 'health and fitness will be continually monitored ahead of Wednesday's match'. However, it is understood that the former Chelsea man is nearing a move away from north London.

Thomas Partey remains sidelined after sustaining an injury to his ankle ligaments during a pre-season friendly with Chelsea earlier this month. The Gunners say that the Ghana international is aiming to be back in training by the end of August.

Eddie Nketiah is also unlikely to feature against the Baggies on Wednesday due to an ankle problem and is hopeful he can be back training by early-September.

The England Under-21 record goalscorer could soon be swapping north London for south London, however, with Crystal Palace understood to be keen on signing him.
