Arsenal handed transfer blow, Christian Eriksen latest, Man United exit talk - European rumours

Arsenal handed transfer blow

Arsenal have been handed a potential transfer blow after the revelation that Thomas Lemar is expected to stay at Atletico Madrid.

The French midfielder has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and even Wolves reported to be in the race for his signature.

Arsenal were first linked with Lemar back in the summer of 2017 whilst he was still playing for AS Monaco.

He was seen as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who ended up staying until January 2018 before leaving for Manchester United.

Arsenal have been linked with Lemar once again but Le 10 Sport are reporting that the 24-year-old midfielder will snub the opportunity to leave.

Mourinho responds to Tottenham exit rumours

Jose Mourinho has claimed to be unaware of Inter Milan putting in an offer to sign midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Denmark international is out of contract at Spurs this summer and has been linked with a move to the Serie A.

Mourinho has explained: "If they are confident it is because they are ready to make us an offer, which didn’t happen yet.

"When I see people speaking, especially people with responsibilities, it makes me surprised. He is trying to do his best and it is normal until January 31 his brain is not totally focused.

"It is a normal consequence of the situation. I still don’t understand that optimism. For a few matches people are saying he is playing his last game. Eriksen plays tomorrow (against Watford)."

Serie A side aiming to land United young gun

Napoli have joined the race to sign Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong.

Tuttosport claim that the Serie A side have joined the likes of Juventus for the signature of the 20-year-old.

Chong is out of contract at the end of the season and Inter Milan have also been linked.

The winger recently opened up on his predicament at the club after only making two Premier League appearances so far this season.

“The manager has shown, and is still showing, he has a great deal of trust in us as players and we’re trying to do our best for him. Hearing his words after the game was a really good feeling," Chong said.

"I just want to progress more and more. I want to keep working harder and harder to get chances again.”
